There is no single best wishlist app for every family. Compare who can open a shared list, what the recipient sees, whether guests need accounts, and which installation options are available. This guide is written by Giftveil; it is not an independent ranking or a hands-on test of every competitor.
What should a surprise-friendly wishlist do?
Collect links from different shops, show other givers what is reserved, and keep reservation details out of the recipient’s normal view. A reservation is a promise to buy, not proof of purchase. Release it if your plans change.
Giftveil hides reservations in the normal signed-in owner view. Anyone with the shared link can open the giver view while signed out, so this is a surprise-coordination feature, not access-controlled storage.

Try the workflow your family will actually use
Save a few products from the shops you use. Check incomplete prices and product options before saving. Ask a friend to open the list, reserve an item, and release it. Test the browser you normally use for messages as well as Safari or Chrome.
