What is GiftVeil?
Giftveil brings wishes from different shops into one list. Share it with people you love: givers see reservations, while the normal signed-in owner view hides them.
How does secret claiming work?
A giver opens the shared link, enters a name and reserves a wish. Other givers see it taken; the normal signed-in owner view hides reservations. A reservation is not a purchase.
Is GiftVeil really free?
Creating a wishlist, saving gifts and secret claiming are free. Approved retailer links may earn GiftVeil a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. Optional event tools are being explored but are not available yet.
Do givers need to create an account?
No. Givers just open your shared link and can claim gifts immediately. No sign-up, no app download, no friction. They just enter their name and click claim.
How do you prevent duplicate gifts?
Other givers see reserved wishes and can choose something else. If plans change, a giver can cancel from the same browser with its saved token. This helps reduce duplicates but does not replace communication.
Can the wishlist owner see who claimed what?
Reservations are hidden in the normal signed-in owner view. Anyone with the shared link can open the giver view while signed out. This is surprise coordination, not an access-controlled private vault.
How many items can I add?
You can add multiple wishes and links. Review captured names, prices and variants before saving. Automatic product details vary by shop.
Is it tied to specific stores?
Your list is not limited to one shop. Add links manually on the web. The desktop extension is a manual-install preview; native apps are currently in testing.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Install GiftVeil from Chrome on Android or add it to your Home Screen in Safari on iPhone. Supported Android installations can receive shared product links. On iPhone, paste a link or set up a Shortcut. See the app and extension guide for steps.
What languages are supported?
GiftVeil is available in English and Czech, with more languages coming soon. The interface automatically detects your browser language.
What happens to my data?
Your data is stored securely on Cloudflare's global network. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings page.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Go to Settings and scroll to the Danger Zone section. You can permanently delete your account and all your data with two clicks.
